“The Fall” is the debut album by Waterfall, coming out March 2023.
The album tells a story of a remote Tribe, disconnected from the outside world, living in a valley, sustained by the Waterfall, which has been supplying all their needs for centuries.
However, something is about to change when Shaman of the Tribe starts having a strange recurring dream…
Rehersal
Verse 1
My Tribe is all I know
I’ve been here all along
Our life – simple and calm
We live doing no harm
Under the mountain steep
Bathed in the waters deep
We lived always alone
The outside – we’ve never known.
Verse 2
My Tribe, has always seen
My gift – telling the dreams
I was being prepared
To venture – up ahead
Towards the ancient stream
The role held in high esteem
Bathed in the Waterfall
I start to recall that
Chorus
All my prior life was
Just a rehearsal
A preparation for something more
I have always had
Time at my disposal
But I can’t go on living
Like I lived before
All my prior life was
Just a rehearsal
Now I clearly see – there is much more
I no longer have
Time at my disposal
I can’t go on living
Like I lived before
Turnaround
Life passes by
You know how time flies
Sun high in the sky –
Festival comes…
Festival
Living life as one
Loving everyone
All the songs we sang
Sweet water that we drank
Worries we have not
Love is all we’ve got
How sweetly did you dance
Enchanted, in a trance
I could not take my eyes
I could not disguise
Feelings that arise
Deep within my soul
I’m lost beyond control
Verse 3
You remember
I took your hand
Like glowing ember
Pulsed my heart
And there we both stand
I realized: I can’t live apart
Without you in my life
Chorus
Don’t you know our life
Was just a rehearsal
Both of us prepared for something more
With your hands in mine,
I have a proposal –
Why don’t we start living like never before
Breathe In
Verse 1
Under shade of ancient tree
I held you gently
Your breath close to my neck
Helped me to reflect
Upon our journey under moon
I thought it could not come too soon
When in the morning mist
We kissed
Chorus
And I said:
Why don’t you breathe in
My spirit into you
Let our being begin
Let me see through you
Verse 2
You said we have not time
You’re not yet mine
We have to wait once more
Bound by natural law
Instrumental Bridge
Verse 3
Under shade of ancient tree
I held you gently
Your breath close to my neck
Helped me to reflect
Upon our journey under moon
I thought it could not come too soon
When in the morning mist
We kissed
Chorus
And I said:
Why don’t you breathe in
My spirit into you
Let our being begin
Let me see through you
Ending
You said we have not time
You’re not yet mine
I submit to your demands
Fell asleep in your hands
The Dream
Verse 1
Dusk – sky painted red
I walk along well-trodden path
Calm, present in my head
Something is off nevertheless
I make this journey every moon
To meditate under its shade
I am the eyes of my commune
Revealing dreams – my trade
Chorus
I take my place
On familiar stone
Stream falls with grace
I feel not alone
As I close my eyes
Spirits guide me
Red shades arise
I’m no longer free
Verse 2
Dusk – sky painted red
I walk along well-trodden path
Calm, present in my head
Something is off nevertheless
I make this journey every moon
To meditate under its shade
I am the eyes of my commune
Revealing dreams – my trade
Chorus
I take my place
On familiar stone
Stream falls with grace
I feel not alone
As I close my eyes
Spirits guide me
Red shades arise
I’m no longer free
Verse
Dusk – Sky painted Red
I think I’ve been here before
I’m not Calm – something’s in my head
It must be happening once more
I make this journey every moon
To meditate under its shade
Am I the eyes of my commune? What commune?
Revealing dreams… Dreams? Dreams?
Chorus
I take my place
On the same stone
Stream falls with grace
But it’s full of blood
As I close my eyes
Spirits guide me
Red shades arise
I’m no longer free
Ominous
Verse 1
Dark morning, starless night;
I lay awakened from recurring dream –
It haunts me; Visions of plight.
I’m deeply bothered by what I’ve seen
Overreaction? A sign to heed?
There is no certainty in my own mind
I must seek guidance in this time of need
But I’m afraid of what I can find
Chorus
My day is spent in relative peace –
My brethren should not know of this.
I cannot share what I saw until
I can be sure of the things I feel.
Verse 2
And so I choose to bide my time –
Ominous feeling is my only crime.
I am afraid to ask the Waterfall –
And risk the price becoming its thrall
(instrumental bridge)
Chorus
The nighttime comes – a dark abyss
There is no longer any hope of peace.
I cannot share what I saw until
I can be sure of the things I feel.
It’s getting harder hiding my concern
I dread the thought having to return
And ask the guidance of the Waterfall
Risking the price becoming its thrall.
Bridge
Why do I feel so ominous?
What could have possibly befallen us?
Verse 3
In mourning – first death comes
The water feeding our Tribe
No longer runs.
Chorus
The nighttime comes – a dark abyss
There is no longer any hope of peace
I’m being sent, not to return
Without the answers to my concern
I must find out why water runs no more
It’s never happened before
I must ask guidance of the Waterfall
Too small a price, becoming its thrall.
Waterfall
Chapter 1
Verse 1
My Tribe had sent
a shaman with a gift
On steep ascent
Towards the Waterfall –
The source of life;
Our ancient retreat –
It fed our Tribe
For many moons
To ask the gods
For guidance, for advice –
What are the odds,
That everything dries?
Bridge
And then I sat down
Started To pray
The visions of Fall
Led me away:
I saw the Great Purge
Coming our way
Wasting us all
I saw no way
Turnaround
How to escape our destiny
How to prevent this prophecy
Chapter 2
Chorus
Waterfall
Sweeps through me
Helps me see
Cleanses me
Waterfall
Cleanse my soul
Let me see
Through you
Verse 2
The Drought has come
Life dries away
My tribe became
Pale shade of gray
We’re dealing with
The end of peace
Life falling apart
We must depart
Bridge
As water falls,
Beats on my head
So Waterfall calls,
Leads me ahead.
I have no choice,
I can’t resist
Thunderous Voice
As it insists
Accepting our fate,
Returning to dust.
Now it’s too late –
End comes at last.
My tribe has brought
Their wrath upon me
For visions of Drought
That I can see
Turnaround
In great disgust
They made me exile
They have no trust –
My vision’s defiled…
Chapter 3
Chorus
Waterfall
Feeds me not
What I’ve got
It takes from
Waterfall
Let me be
I’m not me
It poisons me
Verse 3
Survived
Through Purge
New Man
Emerged
Sickened and weak
What does he seek?
The few
That’s left
Have grave
Respect
For Mother Earth
Undergoing rebirth
Bridge/Ending
All that I see
Is what I’ve become
Visions are me
My time has come
I’ve done my part
I’ve no strength left
A hope of new start
Is all but bereft
